Community

The culture at Acorn Homes is one of creating lifestyles and environments for our customers to enjoy.  It is our desire to form relationships with our customers which extend far and beyond the life of one of our developments.

We recognise the difference we can make to the lives of the people we employ and our customers who buy our homes.  We value the input of both as we continuously strive to further improve the product and service we deliver, and also the environment we create.

Family Fun DayLocal Charities
Many local charities have benefited from our support.  Staff continuously raise money or provide practical help for a range of local initiatives.  Last year Sir Bobby Robson kindly presented cheques to charities on our behalf.
Family Fun DayFamily Fun Day
Originally conceived as a fun way of introducing our families to our new Head Office, the Family Fun Day has become a fixture in the calendar.  All ages enjoy a day of entertainment and refreshments as well as raising money for a local charity.

We are proud to have supported the school to become the only Special Status School for Technology & Enterprise.  Working with the staff and students we have provided practical and financial support.

The Big Tick Awards are for businesses who have provided real evidence of support to the wider community.  We are delighted to have received two awards in 2005 for our work with young people.
Charitable TrustCharitable Trust
In 2004 it was decided to create a dedicated Charitable Trust with a donation of £200,000.  This will be fully operational within the next few months with the aim of helping young people and the environment within the North East.

Staff are always finding new and exciting ways to support their local community.  Jason Dixon recently raised over £2,600 for St Cuthbert's Care by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro.
